is a Postdoctoral researcher with Dalhousie University’s Department of International Development Studies. Their work with CJV2 focuses on the territorialization of oceans and waterways in a nineteenth and twentieth century imperial context. As well, their work with the project involves coordination of research, community outreach, and the organization of student professional development. Liam studied history at Dalhousie University, where their PhD dissertation focused on the imperial and diplomatic dimensions surrounding Britain’s waning peacetime naval power in East Asia during the 1930s. Their wider interests include the examination of coloniality, political economy, and perceptions of power within the context of historical imperialism and international relations.
