holds an MA in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University. Her dissertation explored the colonial foundations of the Sri Lankan Civil War and its implications for peacebuilding. As part of the CJV2 project, she has conducted research on climate-related displacement within and into Canada, and the policies surrounding it. Savandhi’s aspirations for future projects may be wide ranging but are all driven by the same commitment: to challenge systems that safeguard privilege and colonial legacies, creating policies that work for people rather than against them, and grounding her work in the lived realities of the communities most affected.
